Privacy
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, and doesn’t follow you from site to site. Here, plainly, is the only data that goes through HEARTREAVE.
On this site
No tracking cookies, no ads. Audience measurement uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or individual profiles.
As required by law, the site’s host keeps technical connection logs (IP address, date, requested page).
If you sign in with Steam
Sign-in goes through Steam: the site never sees your password. It receives your Steam ID, which is used to recognize you on the site (your leagues, your builds, your votes), and reads your public Steam name and avatar from Steam.
Three strictly necessary cookies are then set: the first lasts only for the round trip to Steam (ten minutes at most), the second keeps your session (30 days at most, deleted when you sign out), and the third only tells the site that you’re signed in. None is used to track you.
The leagues you create or join and the builds you publish, with their name and description, are visible to other players, along with your name and avatar.
The builds you publish and the leagues you create go through a word filter and can be reported by other players. If you report something, your Steam ID is kept with the report; only the developer reads it, for moderation.
In the game: leaderboards
When a run is submitted to the leaderboard, the server receives your Steam ID, your Steam name and the run’s content (heroes, build, action log), in order to add it to the leaderboard.
Your name, party and build appear publicly on the leaderboards, along with your Steam ID, which is already public on Steam.
In co-op, the run is submitted by its host: the name and Steam ID of each player in the party appear in the same way.
The action log is also used, as aggregate statistics, to balance the game.
In the game: bug reports
A bug report sends your description, the log of the current run, the game’s latest technical errors, some technical information (game version, system, screen size, language) and your Steam ID with your Steam name. It is used only to fix the problem and is read only by the developer.
In the game: feedback
The feedback you give in the game is optional. It is sent with your Steam ID and Steam name and a little information about your run, is used only to improve the game and is read only by the developer.
Technical logs
The leaderboard server keeps a technical log of what it receives (IP address, date, Steam ID), for its security and to diagnose failures. Only the developer reads it, and it is erased automatically over time.
Who receives this data
Your data is never sold, passed on or used for advertising.
It is hosted by OVH SAS (France), which hosts the site and the leaderboard server. Steam (Valve Corporation, United States) is involved to identify you: it confirms your sign-in to the site and the account that submits a run, a report or feedback.
Retention
Ranked games and leagues stay online with their season’s archives; a published build, until you delete it. Your account (ID, name, avatar), your content reports, your bug reports and your feedback are kept as long as they serve the service. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, object to the processing of, restrict and port your data (GDPR). Write to contact@heartreave.com with your name or Steam ID. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
This processing is based on providing the service you ask for (leaderboards, leagues, builds, reports, feedback) and on the publisher’s legitimate interest in securing that service and balancing the game.
Data controller: the publisher of the site and the game, reachable at contact@heartreave.com.
